The concept we wish to  emphasize ...... with the above graphic pictures ..... is that scientists in the LAB ...with specially designed equipment can study atomic and molecular  structures ...and their optical behavior ....as displayed by the graphs.   The important information FEATURE of the picture ...is that  some wavelengths ...STAND OUT ..hence, the  mountain top  peaks of the graphed data curves. 

In a parallel sense, Nature .. .... using EARTH LAB with human guinea pigs, human societies, etc ...... can influence the creation of a signal EVENT  ....... that afterwards   .....STANDs OUT in the optical sense
